Matt the Knife

Hosted by Rainy City Roller Girls’ very own Level 2 WFTDA-certified Head Referee Matt the Knife, and Karl Lagerfilled, this bootcamp is aimed at beginner and intermediate level referees, and will consist of both off- and on-skates drills to teach you important skills and knowledge. The following will be covered:
- Making calls loudly and clearly
- Impact and initiation
- Pack definition
- Professionalism
- Conflict management
- Agility and speed control
- Effective communication
- Positioning
- How to perform kit checks

The day will round off with a mixed scrimmage to give you the chance to put your new skills into practice!

Skill level: Beginner-intermediate referees whose skating is at least the level of the WFTDA minimum skills for skaters.
Please bring a whistle, stripes (if you have them), plenty of water and a packed lunch.
