The Thunderdome, King Street, Oldham

We’ve been based in Greater Manchester since 2008, but we have recently opened a new training and bouting venue in Oldham, above the Leisure Lounge on King Street. This building had at one time been Riley’s Pool Hall, and Butterflies Nightclub, but had been disused for some time. This summer, we began leasing this space, and our roller girls took to work to transform it into a rollerskating venue.

Getting Here…

The Thunderdome is on King Street in Oldham, and the entrance is a purple door opposite Halfords.

By Car: There are some extensive roadworks going on around that junction at the moment, for the new Metrolink, so please be careful if you are travelling by car. You can park on street around that area, or in the local multi-storey carparks near the shops, but be aware that some of these close at 7pm.

By Bus: Catch the 82, 83, 180 or 184 from outside Cash Converters on Oldham Street, Manchester City Centre  (near the Picadilly gardens corner, by Nobile’s Amusements). Get off at Mecca Bingo on King Street, just a short way up the road from the Thunderdome. The bus takes around 35 minutes and it’s £4.50 for a day rider ticket to get you there and back.
